Basically I have found a very cheap 2021 honda rebel 500 in awesome condition. I am going to attend the training course at the beginning of may, but was hoping you all could tell me if the bike would be a good starting bike for me. Since the bike itself is a state away, me and a couple friends are taking a short road trip next week to look at

Normally peoples prefer the smaller engine bikes then move towards the powerful bike. Stay Blessed and happy with your bike. Keep the meter running.
Kawasaki Ninja 400, 400z, versis-x 300. Yamaha R3/mt03, sr400, Honda cb500, CBR500, CB500x, rebel 500. Any one of these bikes will work for you and make excellent first bikes. Personally there are a few other bikes out there but sticking with a Japanese bike is a good bet on reliability, Ton of part availability and shops willing to work on them.
And it can be ridden right up to its limits without doing anything dangerous. Compared to a bike like, say, Yamaha’s £8,499 SCR950 – a cruiser-based scrambler with limited ground clearance and crude suspension – the £5,399 Honda Rebel is the model of civility. Hardly a rebel – but in this context that’s a good thing.
