Out of all the classes able to wield a sword, the mesmer does it best IMO. This is the correct answer. Thief also gets good use from a sword, they would probably be second, followed by Guardian if you are doing a dps build. I actually really like the ranger 1H sword. As do I -- rangers with swords end up VERY bouncy.

It can be built from the ground up as a true support class. Its urns used as its identity to conjure aspects of Protection, healing and damage.
