Open the lid and take the bread and kneadning blade out of the bread pan. Grease the breadpan with butter and replace the bread into the pan. Close the lid and press start.
Dough: ¾ cup (168 gr) unsalted butter (1½ sticks) – cold but pliable. 4 large (200 g) eggs – cold. 2 tablespoons granulated sugar. 1 teaspoon table or sea salt. 2½ cups (300 gr) all-purpose unbleached flour. 2 teaspoons instant yeast. ½ cup (60 g) all-purpose unbleached flour.
Instructions. Place the water, milk, and butter in a microwave safe bowl or measuring cup and microwave on low for 45-60 seconds. Add all the dough ingredients, except the chocolate chips, to a large mixing bowl or to the bucket of your bread machine, and knead.
Add the milk mixture, flour, granulated sugar, salt, yeast, and butter to the bread machine, adding in the order suggested by your bread machine manufacturer. Set the machine on the dough cycle; add cinnamon and currants or chopped dried fruit at the beep. If the mixture seems too dry, add water in very small amounts.
Instructions. For the dough: Combine flour, sugar, yeast and salt in a medium-large bowl. Stir well to combine then make a well in the center. Melt butter in the microwave for 30-45 seconds on high power, until just melted. Remove from microwave and add the ¼ cup of milk. Pinch edge of braid together to seal. Place braided bread into prepared pan, and rest for 90 minutes. When rest is nearly over, preheat oven to 350F (180C). After rest, brush the loaf with the egg wash. Bake for 40-45 minutes until deep golden brown, but if browning too fast, tent loosely with foil. W3tnVJ9.
